Who are you?

My name is Mike Virata and I’m an IT Systems Administrator with over two decades of experience. But there is more to me than the tech world. I have an amazing story of personal transformation that started over 20 years ago.

Fitness Journey

  • At 27, I decided to quit smoking. I also promised myself to jog daily until I quit. This resulted in running for many years, through excessive heat, rain, and snow. As the smoke faded, I took my fitness journey to the next level.

  • At 35, I started weight training to improve my physical strength.

  • At 40, I started practicing yoga for its meditation, flexibility, and mobility benefits.

For the first time in my life, I felt the empowering effects of a high-performance approach to well-being.

Mindset And Philosophy

As I achieved my fitness goals, my mindset grew stronger. My pursuit of peak physical fitness opened the door to a deeper exploration: philosophy.

I found myself drawn to the wisdom of Bruce Lee. He is famous for saying, “Be like water”.

So, at the ripe age of 42, I began training in Jeet Kune Do, Kali, Muay Thai Kickboxing, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and Kendo. What began as a challenge to quit smoking became a passion for various forms of physical expression and self-discipline, perhaps sprinkled with some minor insanity.

Here's the best part. Despite the demanding activities, I proudly showcase that age is simply a number.

Spreading The Love

I learned a lot from my journey and I want to help you improve your life. In this space, it’s not about being flawless; it’s about improvement and the shared dedication to support each other, celebrate successes, and overcome challenges as a supportive community.

Certifications And Training

My journey has taken me from the world of information technology to personal training and life coaching.

  • At 45, I obtained certifications in Personal Training, Life Coaching, CPR/AED, and First Aid.

  • At 47, I started Do Your Best Every Day LLC. My company’s mission is to teach the skills to become a high-performer.

I Made An Amazing Discovery

As an IT Systems Administrator by profession, I discovered something intriguing – the complexities of managing IT infrastructures were not very different from optimizing human performance. The human body is a sophisticated organic machine, it works best when each component is finely tuned.

I used the techniques used to keep complex systems running at maximum efficiency to mindset and physical performance.

My experiences have brought me here to you, to share this knowledge and show you that anything is possible, regardless of age.
